Australian cricket is going through a lean phase in the aftermath of the ball-tampering scandal. Their gun players Steve Smith and David Warner have been banned for 1 year and they are set to miss the much-awaited clash against India later this year. In their absence, Virat Kohli-led side is being tipped to thump the weakened home side. However, the fast bowler Pat Cummins is confident of stopping the Indian captain Kohli from scoring 100 and winning the series as well.

Virat has always thrived in different circumstances and he loves Australia. Runs galore from his willow when he tours Down Under and has pummelled the likes of Mitchell Johnson and Mitchell Starc with utter ease on his previous visits to the country. But Australia managed to get rid of him during India tour and kept a lid on his run-scoring during the four-Test series.

Confident Cummins

The series between India and Australia is still a long way away but the mind games have already started it seems. Pat Cummins, while speaking at an event was asked about Team India touring the country later this year to which he responded in a confident way saying that they will not allow the skipper Virat Kohli to score a century which will automatically put pressure on India.

“Virat Kohli is not going to get a 100 and we’re going to knock them off over here,” he said and, in a way, has warned the visitors who have the best chance to win the Test series in Australia against the weakened hosts.

The pace battery of Australia includes Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins who have the ability to run through any batting line-up on any given day. They are recovering from their respective injuries and are about to get fit for the busy summer ahead.

India’s tour of Australia will commence with a three-match T20I series on November 21 followed by 4 Tests and 3 ODIs.
