Pat Cummins hilariously makes fun of Shubman Gill in Hindi before Shah Rukh Khan joins in
Shah Rukh Khan was hilarious with his response.
Kolkata Knight Riders recently launched its new fan anthem named ‘Laphao’ in the mid of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 in the UAE. Shah Rukh Khan, the co-owner of the Kolkata-based franchise, features in the anthem too. In Bangla, ‘Laphao’ means ‘jump’, and going by the reactions on social media, one can say that the KKR fans are loving the new anthem.
The anthem has been composed by rapper Badshah. Along with the rapper and Shah Rukh, the anthem also features KKR players. The anthem shows some memorable moments of the franchise from the previous seasons and also contains moments from the ongoing season. The fans, however, are the main attraction of the anthem.
Last week on October 20, Shah Rukh and the KKR team went live on Facebook to unveil the new anthem. And the live session started on a hilarious note. Shah Rukh began the session by asking Kuldeep Yadav why does he always look sad. In reply, Kuldeep laughed it off before the focus shifted towards fast-bowler Pat Cummins.
Shah Rukh asked Cummins whether he was speaking in Hindi with Kuldeep. The spinner then revealed that Cummins had learned few Hindi words and Shah Rukh was quick to ask the Australian pacer to speak something in Hindi. In reply, Cummins hilariously said: “I’ve learned some words from KD. Shubman tera baal ganda hai,” leaving everyone in splits.
Shah Rukh was not done yet as he pulled Cummins’ legs again by asking him about his quirky hairstyle and where did he get it from. The KKR star replied that he got his new hairstyle done by assistant coach Abhishek Nayar before he was hilariously advised by the co-owner as well as his teammates to avoid Nayar’s room.
Here is the clip showing the interaction between Shah Rukh and the KKR players:
KKR’s performance so far
With 5 wins from ten games, KKR are in contention for the playoffs. They are presently at the fourth spot in the points table. Their season so far has been a dramatic one. Earlier this month, their spin spearhead Sunil Narine was reported for suspect bowling action before his name was taken off the warning list. Dinesh Karthik then stepped down as captain and handed it to Eoin Morgan.
Morgan’s captaincy stint has started on a mixed note. While he led the side to a thrilling win over Sunrisers Hyderabad, KKR did suffer two crushing losses against Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore under his captaincy. With just four league games left now, Morgan will be desperately hoping that KKR shows some consistency.
