Pat Cummins mistakenly tags Mayank Agarwal instead of Mayanti Langer; Indian opener responds

Pat Cummins, the Australian fast bowler, recently played for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2021 Indian Premier League. However, he’s yet to return to his home country after a series of COVID-19 cases led to the indefinite postponement of the T20 league.

In the meantime, amidst the gloomy situation, the speedster found himself in the middle of a rather hilarious occurrence. It happened after he attended a YouTube show named ‘Players Lounge’ where he interacted with renowned sports presenter Mayanti Binny Langer.

After he attended the chat show, he tagged Indian opener Mayank Agarwal instead of Mayanti. Agarwal was pretty prompt to respond. He replied ‘You got the wrong person Pat’. Later, Mayanti also replied ‘epic’ with a couple of ‘laughing out loud’ emoticons.

I will learn more of them than they can learn off me: Pat Cummins

In KKR, Cummins played with the likes of Shivam Mavi and Prasidh Krishna. Even as he got the chance of mentoring them, Cummins said that he also got the chance to learn from the youngsters.

“We have got a great set-up here and it starts from our owners, it’s very relaxed, just a great bunch of people especially the fast bowlers we have got (in KKR) 4-5 young guys who have played under 19 cricket started to get a taste of international cricket.

“Prasidh Krishan debuted for India a couple of weeks ago and they are great to work with. I will learn more of them than they can learn off me,” Cummins was quoted as saying.

Earlier, on Cummins’ birthday, Dinesh Karthik, the former KKR skipper, reckoned that the Aussie pacer has the potential to lead the national team in the future.

“I think in KKR, we are very lucky to have a player like you. One of the best going around the world. Wish you a very very happy birthday. I genuinely wish you soon become an Australian captain. I think you have all the skill sets to do it. Wish you all the very best,” Karthik had said.

Cummins had a reasonable campaign in the 2021 IPL. Though he went for a few runs with the ball, he also played a couple of handy knocks with the bat in hand.
