The South Indian state of Kerala was almost submerged under water with excessive rain causing flooding in most parts. It has affected thousands of people across the region and hundreds lost their lives. The defence forces have been working to rescue and rehabilitate those in the affected areas. There are relief camps set up and in the last few days, the situation has improved but the people are still struggling for basic necessities. Irfan and Yusuf Pathan have joined those who’re sending relief material to the state to help them brings things back to normalcy.
As soon as the magnitude of the disaster was understood, people across the spectrum have been coming in to raise funds. The Union home minister first announced that the centre would give Kerala government Rs 100 cr as aid. When the Prime Minister Narendra Modi went there to assess the situation he further announced Rs 500 cr from the National Disaster Fund.
The Pathan brothers, Irfan and Yusuf as public figures always put their hands up to help those in need. As the situation in Kerala worsened they decided to make an arrangement for flood relief material that the affected people would need. It includes the basics like medicines, food, innerwear, slippers, lungis, blankets and other necessities.
They put up separate videos on social media to thank friends and other associates who helped them assemble all the requirements together. The material will be sent from Baroda to Bangalore by air and then volunteers will take it to the affected area and distribute it.
