Paul Farbrace tips Jos Buttler for Test matches with England
England team batting coach Paul Farbrace has tipped wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler to claim a place n the England Test side for the upcoming series against Bangladesh. Jos Buttler has been the stand-in captain for the absent Eoin Morgan with the latter choosing to stay away from the tour due with a massive clout of security issues in the country.
Farbrace, who entered the England coaching staff coinciding with the appointment of head coach Trevor Bayliss, has been a fan of Buttler’s batting acumen for the most part. The 26-year old wicketkeeper-batsman impressed with the captaincy and also took great pride in securing his first series win as captain of the side as well.
Speaking about the same, Farbrace added that Buttler was one of the players who looked at ease in the context of the ongoing series. Moreover, he also added that should Buttler be able to play with the red ball, there would be no reason not to be a part of the Test match setup.
“The way he has batted out here, he has looked like he’s been batting on different pitches,” said Farbrace. “If he can play that way in red-ball cricket, there’s no reason he shouldn’t be seen as a batter.

“He’s on this trip as the second ‘keeper to start with but, if he gets an opportunity and plays that way again, there is no reason he can’t get back into the side.
“He’s shown real maturity with the bat and looked high quality.”
“It’s a bit of a shoot-out but they could end up both playing,” he said.
With skipper, Alastair Cook away from the side to attend to the birth of his daughter, Haseeb Hameed, and Ben Duckett will take on the important role of playing in his place. “There’s no reason why Duckett couldn’t bat in the middle order, there are places going.”
