Pawan Negi queues up for admission in Delhi University
Pawan Negi is trying to get the admission based on sports quota.
Young Indian all-rounder Pawan Negi is reportedly looking for an admission in the esteemed Delhi University. The all-rounder is keen on taking up the admission and complete his education. However, the Delhi cricketer will have to wait and queue up with other students in order to get admission in the university. Pawan Negi is trying to get the admission based on sports quota.
Some of the media reports suggest that as many as 13000 other people have applied under the sports quota for the admission this year. In a striking contrast to the number of people applying is the total number of seats available. Only a minimal 5 per cent seats are available for the sports quota. The university released the list of 10 players who have got the direct admission into the university.
However, unfortunately for Pawan Negi, his name did not feature in the list. The reason for this was that Negi had submitted the national level documents, whilst the preferences was given to the international level players. As a result of this he will not have to compete with other candidates in the trials to ensure that he gets the admission. Reportedly, Negi had submitted the documents of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, which is a national level tournament.
On field performances
Talking about his recent performances in cricket, Negi was one of the few bright spots for the team Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League this year. He was bought by the RCB camp in the auctions this year after being left out of the Delhi Daredevils squad last year. Negi had become a household name when he was bought for INR 8.5 crore in the IPL auctions last year.
This year, he finished with 16 wickets to his name with an impressive economy of about 6. Albeit the team RCB finished as the wooden spooners, Negi was spot on with his performances.
