The 2021 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) commenced on February 2021 at the National Stadium in Karachi with the opening game between Karachi Kings (KK) and Quetta Gladiators. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was forced to postpone the marquee tournament for an indefinite time after hosting just 14 games of the group stage owing to the rapid increase in the number of coronavirus cases among the players and support staff.
PCB was placed under scrutiny by the former players and cricket analysts as they failed to make a secure bio bubble for hosting the T20 Championship. Meanwhile, the board has now decided to continue the league from June 1 with a match between Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United. The remaining league stage of the tournament will run from June 1 to June 14.
The entire tournament will be conducted in Karachi with the final on June 20, Sunday. Meanwhile, PCB has decided to take no chance this time as they will be appointing a globally recognized safety management company that specializes in providing Covid-safe technology solutions, bio-secure monitoring & management, as well as response and reaction to positive tests.
The entire schedule of the league has been announced by the official Twitter handle of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). “We are ready te we are sure oye! Who’s going to take home the #HBLPSL6 trophy?” they tweeted.

Players to undergo seven-day quarantine: PCB
It has been decided by PCB that all the players will have to serve a mandatory seven-day quarantine period in a hotel room. The quarantine will begin on May 22 and will be followed by three days of training sessions for all the franchises.
As of now, Karachi Kings are leading the point table with 6 points under their belt after winning three games out of five played. They are followed by Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United in the second and third position respectively with 6 points each. Quetta Gladiators are the wooden-spooners with just two points under their belt after registering victory in just one game from five played.
Multan Sultans’ condition is similar to Gladiators as they also have just two points but are a place ahead of Gladiators in the points table owing to a better run rate.
