Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez who was banned by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for bowling with an illegal action in July 2015 for a year has undergone the test at the ICC biomechanics test center at Lahore but the report is yet to arrive. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that they are yet to receive the test report on Hafeez’s bowling action from the biomechanics facility.
According to the PCB CEO once they receive the report and it gives Hafeez the clearance to bowl again they will get in touch with the ICC to conduct the official test. This is done to ensure he clears the official test since this report will help them assess whether he now has a clean action or still needs modification to get into the set parameters of guidelines for the angle of flex in the elbow.
PCB chief operating officer Subhan Ahmed was quoted by ANI saying, “Hafeez’s bowling action was tested at the biomechanics facility in Lahore and its report is yet to come. Once the report comes and if he [Hafeez] clears the test then PCB will contact the ICC for his official examination,”
The 36-year-old who has played 50 Tests, 177 ODIs and 77 T20Is for Pakistan having claimed 52, 129 and 46 wickets in respective formats along with 3452, 5404 and 1614 runs in Test, ODI and Twenty20 Internationals respectively.
