Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shaharyar Khan on Monday has revealed that PCB has suffered losses amounting to nearly $200 million due to Team India’s refusal to play any bilateral series against the neighbouring nation. Their last bilateral series came way back in 2013 in India when Pakistan won the 3 match ODI series 2-1 and drew the 2 match T20 series 1-1.
“I informed the BCCI representative at the International Cricket Council (ICC) meeting recently that PCB had incurred losses of around $200 million because of India’s refusal to play us and these losses were mounting as the BCCI was not even honouring a legal agreement to play bilateral series between 2015 and 2023,” Khan was quoted as saying by Times of India.
Khan added that Pakistan is now waiting for the confirmation of the new draft constitution from ICC so that they can start legal procedures against the BCCI. It is expected to be approved by April this year. “The new draft constitution has a clause for a disputes resolution committee and once the constitution is final we intend to take our case against the BCCI first to this committee,” he was quoted as saying by the reporters in Lahore.
He further revealed that during a board meeting with BCCI last year, a board representative had told him that India was willing to play Pakistan in bilateral fixtures but only when the government gave them the clearence. “I told him that they should have thought about their government before signing the MoU which is a legal agreement as per our lawyers,” he said.

“I told him that India had denied us two home series the losses of which were around $200 million,” Khan added. It has been disappointing for spectators from both countries that these Asian giants haven’t face each other apart from ICC tournaments. Pakistan’s record in ICC tournaments against India has been pretty ordinary and they are scheduled to meet their arch-rivals in their opening encounter in the upcoming Champions Trophy in England.
