Cricket in Pakistan has resumed after they successfully hosted an ODI series whereas the T20I series is in its conclusion. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) looks to come all out on all-fronts to attract other nations towards it, after facing isolation for so long and looks to spread awareness about breast cancer in the final encounter against Sri Lanka.
The hosts have successfully taken over the ODI series but they lost the series in a format in which they are crowned as the number one team of the world. They have faced a humiliating defeat against the second string side of Sri Lanka by 2-0 and one match is yet to take place in Lahore.
PCB to encourage awareness over breast cancer during the last T20I
PCB has recently joined their hands with Pink Ribbon to create people aware of the ongoing disease of breast cancer and for the first time in the history of Pakistan, the crowd will be seen wearing Pink T-shirts and ribbons in the stands during 3rd T20I. A ceremony will take place before the kick-off time of the match in the presence of Pakistan’s president Dr. Arif Alvi and PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani and in that the captains of both the teams will be handed over with pink ribbons.
The advertising companies have been asked to change the color of their advertisement boards to pink as well and the stumps will be of the same color. PCB has encouraged this awareness as their nation is severely dealt with this disease and has the highest rate of its women getting infected with breast cancer.
Before Pakistan, South Africa had introduced this culture and was the first one to wear the pink jersey in March 2013 in a match against Pakistan at home. After that, they decided to make it an occasion to have Pink Day once in a while, when they play ODI matches at home.
Pakistan is already lagging in the series by 2-0 because of the poor show of their bowlers and their batsman who are not able to make runs in a consistent manner against Sri Lankan bowlers, but they still have the chance to consolidate their series loss by winning the last T20I.
