Imam-ul-Haq made the headlines on Wednesday evening when a Twitter user leaked his chats with girls and accused him of manipulating and cheating them. It was cleared in the tweets that all the chats were of the last six months and the cricketer is known to have been dating around seven to eight girls during this period. Ever since then, many are waiting for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to react on the matter and the board has refused to comment on the same.
Imam, who averages more than 54 in ODIs, has always been taunted of being favoured by his uncle Inzamam-ul-Haq who is the chief selector. The latter is stepping down from his position and Imam’s position in the national team is under no threat. But with the controversy propping up, many felt that the PCB will question the cricketer over his conduct.
However, the PCB has preferred to stay away from the controversy and has refused to comment according to the reports in Geo TV. It has also termed the issue has personal and has distanced itself from the matter.
What are the allegations?
In the chats, it could be clearly seen that Imam-ul-Haq is fighting with the respective girls. On the other hand, one of the girls messaged the other victim on Instagram to let her know that the left-hander is a cheater. She also tweeted pictures and videos with the Pakistan opener while also claiming that she met him in South Africa on multiple occasions.
“Far too many women have been manipulated and taken advantage of. This needs to come to an end. Being a victim to this myself. I can say, yes it is cheating. But in what way is cheating on someone okay, that too, with multiple partners, the girl said according to Geo TV.
Imam-ul-Haq himself is yet to comment on the matter and it remains to be seen if he comes up with any explanation over the same.
