PCB releases congratulatory video to commemorate Fakhar Zaman’s double-ton
Zaman is the first Pakistani to achieve the feat.
Pakistan top order batsman Fakhar Zaman scripted history yesterday by becoming the sixth cricketer and the first from his country to score an ODI double hundred as his side punished Zimbabwe in Bulawayo. Zaman scored a scintillating 210 not out off 156 balls, an innings studded with 24 boundaries and five sixes.
Apart from the Pakistani, the elite list features three Indians- Rohit Sharma, Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar along with New Zealand’s Martin Guptill and Caribbean genial giant Chirs Gayle. Zaman’s blistering knock also took him past the previous record of a Pakistan batsman which was set by Saeed Anwar with his 194 more than 21 years ago.
Left-handed Zaman, along with Imam-ul-Haq also broke the all-time opening partnership in ODI history. The Pakistani duo went past Sri Lanka’s Sanath Jayasuriya and Upul Tharanga to break the all-time opening stand record. Zaman and Imam etched a huge 304-run opening stand before the latter was dismissed by Wellington Masakadza.
Lauding the 28-year-old for his heroic innings, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) released a congratulatory video from coach Mickey Arthur and players.

Match Details
Pakistan opted to bat first after skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed won the toss and courtesy of Zaman’s double ton, Pakistan went on to put together a total of 399 in the first innings. Imam also made an imperative contribution with his well-scripted 113.
Coming down to chase 400, Zimbabwe’s dismal batting continued in the five-match series and they were bowled out for 155 in 42.4 overs. In the process, they also lost their fourth straight match by a massive 244-runs margin. This was Pakistan’s second biggest-ever victory in terms of runs in ODI cricket.
Shadab Khan starred with the ball, picking up 4/28 from 8.4 overs to help the subcontinent team bowl the African nation out with as many as 44 balls to spare.
