PCB to not increase salaries and match fees of the centrally contracted players
It was earlier reported that the PCB might increase the salaries.
A few months ago, there were report that the salary of centrally contracted players of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will increase. However, a fresh report suggests that won’t be the case as of this year. The PCB has decided not to increase the match fees for the centrally contracted cricketers.
Many cricketers have signed their contracts recently which was offered to them by the PCB. However, some players haven’t been able to sign the contract yet as they have been stuck at home due to the lockdown of the coronavirus. Like every other country, the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic hasn’t been great in Pakistan. There are more than one lakh active coronavirus infections in the country.
Family insurance included in the PCB’s central contracts for players
For the first time ever, the PCB has decided to add the family insurance in the contract according to the reports in Cricket Pakistan. The salaries and match fees for each of the contracted players have stayed the same. All the players, in A, B, C and emerging category will be paid the same money as last year.
The match fees for A category players are 7,62,300 PKR (for Tests), 468,815 PKR (ODIs) and 338,250 (T20Is). For B category players, the match fees are, 665,280 PKR (Tests), 390,033 PKR (ODIs) and 270,600 PKR (T20Is). For the C and emerging categories 568,260 PKR (Tests), 312,543 PKR (ODIs) and 202,950 PKR (T20Is).
The Man of the Match for Tests and One-Day Internationals (ODIs) will get PKR 3,00,000 while the same award in a Twenty20 International (T20I) would be worth PKR 150,000. The Man of the Series for Tests, ODIs and T20Is will get PKR 600,000, 500,000 and 250,000 respectively.
The category A includes the Test skipper Azhar Ali, the newly appointed captain of the T20I and ODI team, Babar Azam and fast-bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi. The category B includes batsmen Abid Ali, Asad Shafiq, Haris Sohail, Shan Masood, Mohammad Abbas, Mohammad Rizwan and Sarfaraz Ahmed, Shadab Khan and Yasir Shah.
In Category C, the PCB has included Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imad Wasim, Naseem Shah and Usman Shinwari. Emerging Players’ Category lists Haider Ali and Haris Rauf and Mohammad Hasnain. The team is now set to travel to England on June 28 for three Tests and as many T20Is.
