PCB unveils the list of artists performing in the PSL opening ceremony
The first match of the competition will be played between the defending champions Peshawar Zalmi and newcomers Multan Sultans.
The third season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is all set to commence on February 22 as a total of six teams will battle it out for the ultimate glory. Multan Sultans is the new team added to the tournament after only five teams played in the first couple of editions. The tournament will begin with a glittering opening ceremony like every year at the Dubai International Stadium (DSC). However, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has unveiled the list of artists performing on the day.
The board is leaving no stone unturned in the preparation of one of the best T20 leagues in the country. They’ve also made conscious efforts to bring the cricket back to Pakistan by arranging the knockouts in the country. While the second and third playoffs will be hosted by Lahore, the title clash will be played in Karachi. Gaddafi Stadium had hosted the final last year.
Who are the artists?
The opening ceremony of the PSL will begin at 7 PM according to the UAE time following which the first match of the competition between the defending champions Peshawar Zalmi and newcomers Multan Sultans will be played. Internationally acclaimed Sufi singer Abida Parveen will perform a Sufi act which will be a medley of all her best songs. American Pop music artist Jason Derulo will also set the stage on fire with some hit numbers.
Ali Zafar who is touted as the voice of PSL will also take the stage to sing some of his best songs. He is also a renowned Bollywood actor and has produced the official anthem of the tournament for the third year running. Another famous singer Shehzad Roy is the final artist to take part in the celebrations who is also with the PSL since its inception. After all the performances, there would be a fantastic display of fireworks which will welcome the two teams which will fight out to take the honours on the first day.
