India recently lost an ODI series against New Zealand by 0-3. It turned out to be a nightmare for the national side. But, not for one player and that is KL Rahul, who is currently playing in the form of his life. He was involved in a conversation with James Neesham in the 3rd and final ODI. Later on, the Kiwi all-rounder came out with a hilarious caption over that moment. But, one response that hogged the spotlight was given by ICC.
KL Rahul has emerged as one of the biggest positives for Team India in the last couple of months based on his astonishing performances in different roles. At one point he was on the verge of getting ruled out from the team. But, on the back of some brilliant performances, he has turned himself into an important part of Team India in the limited-overs format.
James Neesham gives hilarious caption on his banter with KL Rahul
It is well known that KL Rahul and James Neesham will play together for Kings XI Punjab in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. During the match, they were involved in a small on-field banter but all was well between the two that was clarified by Neesham in his post after the 3rd ODI in which he wrote that, “Just a bit of banter. But, nobody crossed the line.”
Later on, the Kiwi all-rounder shared a still of the same moment in which he and Rahul can be spotted in some exchange of words. He gave a funny caption to the same that read, “Paper, scissors, rock?.” Soon that post attracted ICC, who quickly gave a hilarious response. ICC took to their official Twitter handle and commented on the post saying, “Perhaps we do this instead of super overs?.”
It was a cheeky dig over what happened in the recently concluded T20I series in which both the sides played two back to back tie-breaking Super Overs to decide the winner of the games. It was the first occasion in the history of cricket when two teams were involved in back to back tiebreakers in the shorter format.
New Zealand and India are gearing up for the upcoming Test series that is scheduled to begin from 21st of February at Basin Reserve in Wellington.
