The 2021 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will resume on June 1, and all participating sides are gearing up for the T20 tournament. The competition was scheduled to take place in February and March. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) postponed the event midway after a string of COVID-19 cases were reported inside the bio-bubble. The remainder of the season will take place in UAE, and Inzamam-ul-Haq will also have a part to play.
The former Pakistan captain has been roped by Peshawar Zalmi as mentor/batting consultant for the remaining matches of the tournament this season. It’s indeed a massive boost for the franchise as Inzamam is one of the greats of the game and also has a fair amount of experience in coaching. Moreover, the 51-year-old has also served as a batting consultant of PSL franchise Lahore Qalandars.

Notably, the Peshawar-based side was second in the points table at the time of suspension with three wins in five games. They still have five more league-stage games in hand, and victories in three of them would surely guarantee them a place in the playoffs. The Wahab Riaz-led side will resume their campaign against Lahore Qalandars on June 4.
Meanwhile, PCB on Thursday confirmed that they had received all approvals and exemptions from the United Arab Emirates government to conduct the remaining 20 PSL matches in Abu Dhabi.
“We are delighted with this development as the remaining hurdles in the staging of the remaining PSL 6 matches in Abu Dhabi have been overcome and all systems are now good to go. We are grateful to the UAE government, National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority, Emirates Cricket Board, and Abu Dhabi Sports Council for their support and patronage in ensuring all final obstacles were removed,” PCB Chief Wasim Khan said in a statement.
