Peshawar Zalmi launch a new kit for the upcoming edition of the PSL

The third edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is set to get underway on February 22. The first two editions of the tournament were smash hits among the fans. With the final of the previous edition played in Lahore and the playoffs slated to be played in Karachi and Lahore this year, the expectations and the following of the tournament has increased manifold. The defending champions of the competition Peshawar Zalmi are all set to hold their title in a brand new avatar as they launched a new kit for the upcoming season in a glittering ceremony in Lahore.

Players and the team management mark their attendance at the launch

The Zalmi franchise unveiled their new jersey for the upcoming edition of the tournament in an exciting launch where the players along with the management and young cancer patients of Shaukat Khanum Hospital marked their attendance at the event. The Peshawar Zalmi team chairman Javed Afridi, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Najam Sethi, former PCB chief Shahryar Khan and the team’s president and former Pakistani cricketer Zaheer Abbas also attended the launching programme.

Sethi also thanked the Zalmi franchise for their efforts in the revival of international cricket in the country. Famous acting personalities like Mahira Khan and Hamza Ali Abbasi were named the official brand ambassadors of the franchise for the 2018 edition of PSL. Zalmi also launched their anthem ‘Hum Zalmi’, performed by the Call Band at the event.

Zalmi appoints Saqlain Mushtaq as their bowling consultant

The franchise has roped in former Pakistani legendary spinner Saqlain Mushtaq as their bowling consultant for the upcoming edition of the tournament. The official social media handle of the Peshawar Zalmi took to micro-blogging site Twitter to welcome Mushtaq on their roster. The Zalmi franchise referred Mushtaq as the ‘spin maestro’. The legend has been associated with the franchise since the first edition of the tournament.
