Pictures: Krunal Pandya ties the knot in a star-studded ceremony

For the past few weeks, the wedding of Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma was the biggest news in the cricketing circle. It has been a festive week for the Indian cricketers as Krunal Pandya married his long-time girlfriend Pankhuri Sharma. The Mumbai Indians all-rounder tied the knot on Wednesday in Mumbai.

It seems to be a wedding season for the Indian cricketers as four of them have already married since November this year. First, it was Indian fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar who married his fiance Nupur Nagar in Meerut.

Then it was the turn of former Indian fast bowler Zaheer Khan who tied a knot with his girlfriend Sagarika Ghatge in a court ceremony. On December 11, Indian captain Virat Kohli married his longtime girlfriend Anushka Sharma in Italy in a private ceremony. It was one of the most high profile weddings of the year and was the talk of the town for a long time.

Star-studded affair

The all-rounder invited his friends and quite a few big names of Indian cricket attended the wedding to make it a star-studded affair. Rohit Sharma, who is captain of Mumbai Indians attended the wedding. Owner of the Krunal Pandya’s team in the IPL, Mukesh Ambani was also a part of the ceremony.

Members of the Indian team, KL Rahul, and Jaydev Unadkat were also present at the wedding. Likes of Parthiv Patel and Irfan Pathan added to the star cast.

Sachin Tendulkar and Amitabh Bachchan

It was a grand ceremony but the presence of Sachin Tendulkar was the highlight. Sachin Tendulkar, who is regarded as the greatest to have played the game was present at the wedding to bless the young couple. Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who is the brother of Krunal Pandya personally welcomed the legendary batsman. Legendary Indian actor Amitabh Bachchan was also present at the wedding of the elder of the Pandya brothers.
