India stood neck to neck with England on day 1 of the 2nd Test match in Chennai, where they concluded the day’s play by collecting 300 runs in their bag. After winning the toss, hosts decided to flaunt their dominance with willows first, and it was hitman Rohit Sharma who took this charge too seriously. In-form Shubman Gill went back after enduring a duck, and it turned for worse when the same case happened with skipper Virat Kohli.

However, ace batsman Sharma was in an adamant mood to get something big today and picked up the rhythm in no time. He played breathtaking innings of 161 runs and was supported well enough by vice-captain, Ajinkya Rahane. After India was three wickets down on 86 runs, Rohit decided to take bowlers to the cleaners. It is a known fact that spectators have been given entry in the stands from the 2nd Test to witness the live-action, and players’ families also hopped in to witness the same.

Rohit Sharma’s wife Ritika crosses fingers for his good luck

It has been noticed on several incidents that Rohit’s beloved wife, Ritika crosses her finger when the hitman is going in fine rhythm or going to hit some big score. The same saga was witnessed today, when Ritika appeared in stands in a classy black and white polka dot dress. She kept her fingers crossed constantly and looked quite anxious before the opener brought his classy ton on the front. Ritika is even seen crossing her fingers for the entire while her husband is in action on the field.

Riding on his stunning 161 runs innings, India posted good 300 runs on the board by the day’s end. Rahane’s knock of 67 runs also remained crucial in pushing India up. It was a terrible situation for India when Kohli got dismissed in no time, and all the eyes were on Rahane and Sharma. Rishabh Pant and debutant Axar Patel will be out to play on the 2nd day of the Test. Moeen Ali and Ollie Stone got two wickets each under their belt on day 1 of the 2nd Test.
