<p>Sir Viv Richards was the first batsman to properly dominate the ODI format in its infancy form. He was the one who understood the game perfectly and dominated the bowlers as he liked. Man of the final in the 1979 World cup final for his brilliant 138*. His highest score in ODIs was 189* vs England made at Leeds in 1984. That was the highest score in ODIs at that time and stood as the world record for 13 years until Saeed Anwar broke it by making 194.</p>

<p>Known as the prince of Trinidad, Brian Lara redefined the art of batting in both Test and ODI arenas. Lara made 3 scores of 150 and above in ODI matches. His highest score was 169 against Sri Lanka in Sharjah 1995. Lara who was known for his long innings and brilliant stroke play in Test arena made the ODI batting look beautiful as well.</p>

<p>The ‘Hitman’ Rohit Sharma, from time to time, has proved that he is a player who likes to score massive scores regularly. His first big knock was itself a very special knock. He murdered the Australian bowling attack to hit a record-breaking 209 at Bangalore. His second 150+ score was perhaps, even more, special as he broke own record and plundered 264 runs against Sri Lanka. The cricketing world was in disbelief about this unimaginable world record. The most recent and his 4th 150+ innings came against Australia at the WACA, he stayed unbeaten at 171 and helped India get past 300 in the first innings.</p>

Gayle is a powerful hitter with a heavy bat and a style that suits the limited over style. His highest score was made recently against Zimbabwe in 2015 World cup, when he scored 215, the first double hundred of World cup history. He hit 16 sixes and 10 fours in his innings and made his 200 in just 138 balls, the fastest double century of all time.<br>

<p>The ‘Matara Mauler’ Sanath Jayasuriya scored 4 scores of 150 and more in his long ODI career. His gameplay was perfect for the ODIs and in 1996 World cup, then captain Arjuna Ranatunga asked him to open the innings and as they say, rest is history. Jayasuriya had the license to go after the bowling from ball one and he seldom failed in doing his job. His highest score was 189 vs India in final of 2000-01 Coca Cola trophy in Sharjah.<br>

<p>Perhaps the best ODI batsman along with Sir Viv Richards, Sachin Tendulkar single-handedly carried the Indian team on his shoulders in the 1990s until the arrival of Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly.
