Please do not ask for free passes requests PCB chairman Najam Sethi
Though Pakistan have already won the series, the final T20I has a lot to look forward to.
The cricketing fever is returning back to Pakistan as the hosts will lock horns with the visiting Sri Lankan side for the 3rd T20I of the three-match series at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Sri Lanka will travel to Pakistan for the first time after the 2009 attacks on the team bus in Lahore which resulted in injuries to some players and officials. But the Lankans have lefts the old scars behind and are hoping for a memorable visit this time.
The Pakistan Cricket Board chairman (PCB) Najam Sethi thanked all the fans for their support for organizing the match in Lahore and also requested them to not ask for any free passes. Earlier in the last month, a World XI side had visited Pakistan to play 3 T20Is against the national team, which was a great series as many big international players were part of the initiative. The PCB further hopes that the final T20I against Sri Lanka will be conducted peacefully and sportingly.
No free passes please
Though the outcome of the series is already decided as Pakistan lead the three-match series 2-0, the game still has a lot to offer. The millions of cricket lovers are waiting for the exciting contest and the tickets for the game are also selling rapidly. Therefore, the PCB chairman thanked all the fans for their overwhelming support and has also requested them to not ask for ‘free passes’.
“Grateful for overwhelming support for Lahore T20. VIPs Please don’t ask for free passes. BUY tickets from designated TCS Express Centres,” Sethi wrote on Twitter.
The visitors have a lot to play for
The visiting Sri Lankan team has had a horrendous run in the limited-overs leg of the tour. They won the Test series 2-0, but then were handed a thumping 5-0 defeat in the ODI series and are now on the cusp of another whitewash in the T20I series. However, the Lankans have a lot to play for in the third match on Sunday and they would be hoping to go home with a victory.
