‘Please stop spreading fake news’ – Mohammad Amir on reports of him coming out of retirement
After accusing the management of mentally torturing him, Amir has been hogging quite a bit of limelight.
Mohammad Amir, the former Pakistan fast bowler, retired from all forms of international cricket in December 2020. The Gujjar Khan-born last played in the tour of Pakistan back in August and hasn’t donned the national jersey ever since then. After being left out, Amir decided to hang his boots from the highest level and also alleged the Pakistan team management for mentally torturing him.
It was clear that he wasn’t happy with the management, comprising of Waqar Younis and Misbah-ul-Haq among others. In 2019, Amir quit Test cricket and the decision didn’t go down well with a number of former Pakistan cricketers. In the meantime, reports of the 28-year-old Amir coming out of retirement are doing the rounds.
“I will approach the board myself and tell them that I am available if there is a new management in place. I don’t think that the issues with current management will be resolved now because mindset doesn’t change in a day.” Amir was quoted as saying by Samaa TV.
