India and Pakistan locked horns yesterday in the fifth match of the 2018 Asia Cup. However, the encounter turned out to be a one-sided affair as the Men in Blue thumped Sarfraz Ahmed’s men by eight wickets. Moreover, they finished atop Group A in the points table. After winning the toss and electing to bat first, most of the tactics floundered for Pakistan.

Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq perished early courtesy of Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s discipline with the leather. Thereafter, Babar Azam and Shoaib Malik tried to restore sanity back into the innings with an 82-run partnership. Nevertheless, Kuldeep Yadav ran through Babar’s defence to break the ominous-looking stand. Kedar Jadhav was introduced after 20 overs and he didn’t disappoint.

He got rid of Sarfraz, the Pakistani captain, Shadab Khan, and Asif Ali to rip their middle-order apart. Moreover, he was frugal and hardly dished out loose deliveries for the batsmen to pounce on. Faheem Ashraf and Mohammad Amir added 37 runs for the eighth wicket to lift the Men in Green up to 162 runs and Pakistan were bowled out 41 balls short of the 50 overs.

During the run chase, Rohit Sharma blazed away and scored a quick-fire half-century to take the sting out of the Pakistani attack. Shikhar Dhawan, Ambati Rayudu and Dinesh Karthik contributed their bit to help India chase the target down with 21 overs to spare. In the meantime, a meme surrounding Anushka Sharma’s latest Bollywood movie ‘Sui Dhaaga’ did the rounds.

In the picture, Anushka was quoted as saying, “162 runs to Akele Hamara Maard Bana Leta Hain”(162 runs can be scored by her husband Virat Kohli himself). Co-incidentally, Kohli’s highest score of 183 came against Pakistan in the 2012 Asia Cup.

Meanwhile, Poonam Pandey, a Bollywood actress, who is mostly known for her controversial pictures on the internet, used the meme to troll Sarfraz Ahmed and Co. She took to Twitter and wrote, “:)) @AnushkaSharma be like #INDvPAK #AsiaCup2018,”
