India women team’s star Poonam Yadav and Australia women team’s star Alyssa Healy were recently involved in a hilarious banter on Twitter. India’s women team is currently in Australia for the ongoing tri-series featuring the hosts and England. After the tri-series, all the three teams will feature in the upcoming T20 World Cup.

Coming to the banter, it was started by Poonam Yadav. She took to the social media platform to post a picture of herself posing alongside Mitchell Starc, Australia men team’s pace spearhead and husband of Alyssa Healy. Yadav tagged Healy in the tweet too and hilariously asked the wicketkeeper-batter the difference in height between her and Starc.

Yadav stands just above five feet and is one of the shortest cricketers in the world. On the other hand, Starc stands at around 6 feet 4 inches and thus the difference in height was pretty much big.

“What is our height difference, @ahealy77? ,” wrote Yadav.

In reply, Healy came up with a hilarious reply. She hilariously called Yadav shorty and tweeted: “Haha much greater than ours!! #shorty”

Yadav then made it clear that she was impressed with the reply by posting the following tweet:

India and Australia to fight for the title

Ahead of the T20 World Cup, India and Australia will lock horns in the final of the ongoing tri-series. Australia beat England on Sunday to book their place in the final. A brilliant bowling performance from Sophie Molineux and Tayla Vlaeminck helped Australia defend 132 and storm into the final to lock horns with India.

Molineux took 3 for 19 off the back of Vlaeminck’s two early breakthroughs in the powerplay. Jess Jonassen also bowled a superb spell as England made a mess of the relatively easy chase.

England not only failed to chase down the target but also fell short of the 124 needed to stay ahead of India on net run-rate after all three teams were tied on the table with two wins each from four matches. England finished their innings on 116 for 7. Both India and Australia have met against each other twice in the competition and have registered one win apiece.
