'Poor Rishabh Pant' - Urvashi Rautela's presence in India-Pakistan clash ignites meme fest

The Dubai International Cricket Stadium is playing host to the blockbuster clash between eternal rivals India and Pakistan in the second fixture of the 2022 Asia Cup. While the stands have been jam-packed with vociferous supporters of both teams, there have been some notable presence at the venue, none more so than the Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela, who has been engrossed in a controversy with Indian batting ace Rishabh Pant.

India began their Asia Cup campaign with a titular clash against neighbouring nation Pakistan and are heavy favourites to lift the trophy for a third successive time. While the Indian team has been imperious on the field with their impressive performances, there has been controversy circling Indian star Rishabh Pant.

Netizens went into a frenzy after Urvashi Rautela was spotted in the stands

The Rishabh Pant-Urvashi Rautela controversy has been doing the rounds on social media for a while now, and the Indian actress was seen in the VIP box when the camera cut to the spectators in the stand. The controversy began when Urvashi Rautela made an indirect remark about Pant’s desperation to meet her, calling her several times on the phone, when they were rumoured to be dating.

The B-town celebrity’s statement did not go down well with the explosive Indian batter, who compiled a cryptic social media post of his own, referring to Urvashi Rautela as ‘Didi’. Although there has been no direct statement from either of them, they have been putting out posts targetting each other indirectly on social media.

Urvashi’s sighting in the match was followed by Rishabh Pant’s appearance on the camera. The appearance of the controversial pair, quite expectedly flooded social media with witty posts pertaining to the whole scenario.

Notably, the flamboyant Indian batter was dropped from the XI in favour of veteran wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik to the bewilderment of the Indian fans. The southpaw has been in tremendous form in the longer formats of the game but unfortunately has not been able to carry that form in the T20Is for the Indian team.
