The two are vital cogs of their respective Australian teams and their record at the highest level is also phenomenal. While Starc is one of the lethal speedsters going around, his wife Alyssa Healy is a wicketkeeper-batter, who has given nightmares to the best of bowling attacks. Interestingly, the power couple was batting simultaneously on Tuesday.
Husband, wife serving national teams simultaneously
As Australia lost their sixth wicket on Day 5 of the Rawalpindi Test, Starc came out to bat at number eight. Starc’s stay at the crease coincided with the start of Australia’s innings in the women’s game. Healy and her opening partner Rachael Haynes came out to bat after Pakistan posted 190/6 in their allotted 50 overs. Netizens were quick to spot the same as the co-incident became a talking point on social media.

Meanwhile, the left-arm pacer showcased some resilience and survived 45 deliveries in Rawalpindi. However, he could only score 13 runs with the help of a solitary boundary. On the other hand, Healy played some delightful shots early on and is going well as this is written. As Pakistan don’t have too many runs on the board, they must get rid of the dashing opener soon to stay in the hunt.
As far as the status of both games is concerned, the Test match is heading towards a draw as Australia’s first innings ended at 459 on Day 5. As Pakistan declared at 476/4 while batting first, they have earned a 17-run lead in the first innings. However, it’s unlikely to take them to win. On the other hand, the Aussies have crossed the 70-run mark inside 14 overs with the loss of just one wicket. Hence, the Women in Green require a miraculous effort to come back in the hunt.
