The biggest positive for the Indian side in the last 3 and half months has been Rishabh Pant’s form with the willow.

The man who will partner Rohit Sharma at the top of the order for the Indian side would be Shubman Gill. Even though Gill did not have a very fruitful series with the willow against England, he is still an asset for the side. In the 4 Tests that he played against the England side, the 21-year-old could score only 119 runs at an average of 19.83.

But still, these are early days in Gill’s career and the right hander has loads of talent. And, if we want any proof for it, then all we need to do is rewind our memories to India’s tour of Australia in 2020-21, where the youngster scored 259 runs at an impressive average of 51.80 in the land of the kangaroos. Also, his blistering 91 at The Gabba in the 4th Test helped the Indian side to win a historic series against Australia in their own backyard.

Even though the conditions in England would be challenging, we can expect Gill to rise to the occasion in the final of the World Test Championship (WTC).
