It was so intense and dramatic, it began to sting for everyone who supported those sides and even the neutrals. Yet, by the finest of margins, England reigned supreme and earned the crown for the first time on boundary count.

The quality of cricket is improving in every corner, making each team&#8217;s shot at the dice equally competitive. This World Cup final was a classic example and people cannot wait for the next ICC tournament to begin, which happens in Australia next October and November. The pacific is a pretty attractive place to play the shortest format and we can expect a lot of fireworks.

Here&#8217;s what we predict for the 2019 World Cup participants in the upcoming T20 World Cup:

Afghanistan are growing in stature, but their good performances in recent years are still not good enough to win them the accolades optimists expect them to win. There&#8217;s quality, there&#8217;s firepower and a lot of variety, but all of their players are still too raw for this stage.

<a href="https://www.crictracker.com/aakash-chopra-agrees-with-rashid-khans-wish-to-play-against-stronger-teams-in-future/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>Rashid Khan</strong></a> could represent his nation as a captain in an ICC tournament for the first time and the side will have a slightly different look when compared to the 2019 World Cup. Yet, their batting still doesn&#8217;t have enough venom in them to compete against the best in the business and it will take more than a year for them to develop in that regard.

There are no immediate solutions to their problems, apart from patiently waiting and giving their best in every game. The fallen giants of international cricket, it is almost tough to comprehend what has happened with Sri Lanka. It doesn&#8217;t seem like they have a spine strong enough to withstand the pressure of a tournament as big as this and maybe, at least for the next tournament, all we can expect is an upset here and there.

They do not have anything sorted, from their batting positions to bowling options. It is almost difficult to predict 7-8 players who will definitely be present in Australia for the tournament, such is the ambiguity. With such confusion and fear in the hearts, it seems highly unlikely for them to reach the final four.

They&#8217;re trying to persevere with some players like Shehan Jayasuriya and Avishka Fernando right now and only time will decide if that will be fruitful. Yet, one thing is certain, life is not going to get any easy in the coming days, in the lead up to the big tournament.<br>

Yet, there&#8217;s great quality in individuals like Kagiso Rabada, Quinton de Kock and Rassie van der Dussen, who will be shouldering the majority of the responsibility. New Zealand turned out to be brilliant when it mattered the most in the World Cup, but there were moments when they were vulnerable and are definitely prone to making some errors. The tournament being played in the pacific conditions could help their cause, but it is difficult to see them past the semifinal mark.

A bit like team India, they depend a little too much on two or three players to do the bulk of the damage. They turn up with horses for courses teams for every tournament, just the way they did in the 2019 World Cup. Some of their T20 specialists haven&#8217;t been at their best in the last 12 months and underperformed in England as well.

After the 2013 Champions Trophy triumph, India played five ICC tournaments, losing in the knockout stages in all of them. They entered as favourites in all of them, yet failed to deliver the result which was expected.

One of the pillar-reasons for this frustrating turn of events is the heavy reliance on one or two players. Australia too boast of something similar and hosting the tournament makes them all the more in contention than their arch-rivals. Both these sides met in the World Cup semifinal in 2019, which turned out to be one-way traffic.</p>

<p>Afghanistan are growing in stature, but their good performances in recent years are still not good enough to win them the accolades optimists expect them to win. There&#8217;s quality, there&#8217;s firepower and a lot of variety, but all of their players are still too raw for this stage.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.crictracker.com/aakash-chopra-agrees-with-rashid-khans-wish-to-play-against-stronger-teams-in-future/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>Rashid Khan</strong></a> could represent his nation as a captain in an ICC tournament for the first time and the side will have a slightly different look when compared to the 2019 World Cup. Yet, their batting still doesn&#8217;t have enough venom in them to compete against the best in the business and it will take more than a year for them to develop in that regard.</p>

<p>The fallen giants of international cricket, it is almost tough to comprehend what has happened with Sri Lanka. It doesn&#8217;t seem like they have a spine strong enough to withstand the pressure of a tournament as big as this and maybe, at least for the next tournament, all we can expect is an upset here and there.</p>
<p>They do not have anything sorted, from their batting positions to bowling options. It is almost difficult to predict 7-8 players who will definitely be present in Australia for the tournament, such is the ambiguity. With such confusion and fear in the hearts, it seems highly unlikely for them to reach the final four.</p>
<p>They&#8217;re trying to persevere with some players like Shehan Jayasuriya and Avishka Fernando right now and only time will decide if that will be fruitful. Yet, one thing is certain, life is not going to get any easy in the coming days, in the lead up to the big tournament.<br>

He currently has an assembly of young and undernourished players, who could or could not turn up big when the tournament begins. There are too many conjectures being made, none sound positive to a Protea ear.</p>
<p>Yet, there&#8217;s great quality in individuals like Kagiso Rabada, Quinton de Kock and Rassie van der Dussen, who will be shouldering the majority of the responsibility. Their progress depends pretty heavily on the performance of these three or maybe another floater here and there, but their chances of qualifying to the semifinals look grim.<br>

You never know when they find a way out of their ruins to reign supreme against all the odds, so it&#8217;s better to just sit back and enjoy as they pull off something unthinkable every time they come out to play.</p>
<p>The tournament&#8217;s burden weighs a little too heavily on Sarfaraz Ahmed&#8217;s shoulders, who might be shown a cold shoulder if the team fails to reach the knockout phase. As it stands, apart from the brilliance of <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/the-hundred-pakistans-shahid-afridi-and-babar-azam-named-in-the-initial-draft/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>Babar Azam</strong></a>, nothing seems to be working well in their way to back their berth in the top four.</p>

<p>Defending champions West Indies seem to have lost their aura in the last few months. With <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/5-cricketers-who-underwent-amazing-body-transformation/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>Chris Gayle</strong></a> departing, it doesn&#8217;t get any more easy for them with fresh and young blood taking over in the batting department. There&#8217;s too much exuberance in the team but as it stands, it doesn&#8217;t seem like they&#8217;re using their assets efficiently.</p>
<p>Talented players like Evin Lewis, Shimron Hetmyer, Nicholas Pooran and Shai Hope do promise a lot, but will they be able to cope with the tournament&#8217;s pressure could be a big question. The growth of Sheldon Cottrell is another huge bonus for the team, but pretty big shadows surround over their chances of reaching the knockouts.</p>
