Often drawn parallels between him and the great Sachin Tendulkar, thanks to an early-age start to his career. The 19-year-old Prithvi Shaw even went on to do something in his first Test that the great Tendulkar couldn’t — hitting a hundred. He also reportedly went to the legend for counselling after it was alleged that he was having attitude problems so that advice from the latter, who never had a controversy in his ultra-long career, could guide him rightly. On Wednesday, the two were seen together again on the eve of the game between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Feroz Shah Kotla Ground.
Prithvi has a quiet IPL this year except one 99
While Prithvi is playing for Delhi Capitals in the tournament and missed his maiden IPL century last month by a run at the same venue, Tendulkar is the icon of the MI and works in the capacity of a mentor and motivator. The upcoming game is a crucial match for both the sides in the race for a playoff spot. Both the teams have 10 points from eight games with the DC leading in terms of net run-rate.
The 19-year-old Prithvi shared a picture of himself having dinner with Tendulkar on Twitter which he captioned as: “Thank you SACHIN SIR for the lovely dinner It’s always a pleasure meeting you SIR @sachin_rt Sir.” The picture was liked 15k times.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) couldn’t stop from reacting to the picture and said: “Because it’s time to cross “dinner with @sachin_rt” off your bucket list.

The fans also chipped in reactions to the get-together of one of the game’s biggest icons and one of its biggest potentials.
Prithvi was expected to replicate during India’s last tour of Australia what Tendulkar had done in the 1991-92 series as a teenager but an ankle injury just before the first Test in Adelaide ruled him out of the entire series and he made a comeback only in the recent Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy.
