Prominent International cricketers excited to visit Pakistan for PSL
Few players have agreed on conditional consent as well.
International cricketers like Shane Watson and Ian Bell among others have agreed to visit Pakistan for Pakistan Super League (PSL). They have expresses their willingness to travel the country ahead of the players draft on Sunday. The third edition of the domestic T20 league is all set to commence in February-March next year. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is leaving no stone unturned in the preparations for the tournament.
The board has already declared that it will stage the knockout matches in Pakistan which left the foreign cricketers befuddled regarding their participation in the league. The group stage games will be played in the United Arab Emirates and the playoffs will be hosted in Karachi and Lahore. Though there is no formal announcement from the board. However, it remains to be seen the number of players who will actually travel when the time comes.
Most of the 291 players agree
According to the Geo.tv, most of the 291 foreign players which will go down the hammer in the players draft have agreed to travel Pakistan during PSL. Some of the players have expressed conditional consent for their visit as well. “The platinum players giving unconditional consent to visit Pakistan include Australia’s Shane Watson, South Africa’s Colin Ingram, West Indian Dwayne Bravo, Australian John Hastings and South Africa’s JP Duminy,” the source said.
“Thisara Perera, Carlos Braithwaite, Angelo Mathews, Jason Holder and Mitchell McClenaghan have also expressed conditional consent to visit Pakistan,” he added. While Rashid Khan and Imran Tahir have also agreed to visit, Chris Lynn, Evin Lewis and Alex Hales are yet to confirm their availability. The Gold category players like James Franklin, Grant Elliot, Morne van Wyk are also among players who are excited to visit the country.
“Although we are still four months away from PSL, at the moment we have consent from a large number of players to play the PSL matches in Pakistan,” said the PSL source as quoted by Geo TV. He also informed that more than 85 percent of the foreign players have responded positively on the matter.
