One of the batting mainstays of the South African lineup, Faf du Plessis, had given the T20I series against England a miss recently. The reason behind this was quite unique. He wanted to be with his wife as they were expecting their first child. Now, the star batsman has confirmed the news of becoming a proud father. He took to social media site Twitter to post a very adorable picture of his baby’s hand holding his finger.
He had a caption to go along with the picture as well. Faf du Plessis remarked that the baby is the biggest blessing that he had ever got. He absolutely loved the way the biggest blessing had come in a small adorable package. He expressed his feelings of being grateful for the same.
However, neither did the tweeted picture, nor did the caption that went along with it mentioned whether the new born baby is a boy or a girl. Faf du Plessis tweeted, “Our biggest blessing yet came in a small package.so very grateful.”

Back to cricket action
Now, this news could potentially mean some good news for team South Africa. They have already been beaten by England in the T20I and ODI series of the tour. Earlier, when Faf du Plessis had headed back to South Africa, it was being speculated that he would end up missing the first of the four match Test series of the tour.
Faf had only strengthened the claims when he had mentioned that he will not rush through the delivery of the baby just to be back to the cricket field. Now, with the baby born and a week still left for the first Test to get underway, he is likely to join the squad. The first Test begins on July 6 at the iconic venue of Lord’s.
