The former Indian skipper MS Dhoni has finally opened up on the criticism he faced during the series against New Zealand. He was criticized and trolled by many for playing a slow innings when the team had to score more than 12 an over. Even the former International cricketers like Ajit Agarkar and VVS Laxman suggested him to hang his boots from the shortest format of the game. However, the cool and calm cricketer feels that the views of everyone has to be respected.

Dhoni faced the wrath of the fans after the second T20 International against the Kiwis last week which India lost by 40 runs. Despite scoring 49 off just 37 deliveries, he was guilty of playing too many dot balls early on in his knock which kept the fluent Virat Kohli away from the strike. Amidst all the harsh criticism, the skipper Kohli and coach Ravi Shastri backed the veteran strongly and termed him as one of the best going around in the World.

Everybody’s view should be respected

MS Dhoni usually stays away from the media in the middle of an international series. But while he was in Dubai on Sunday for the launch event of his Cricket Academy, he reacted on the matter in a gentle and respectful manner which won the hearts of many yet again. “Everybody has views in life and it should be respected,” he said as quoted by Khaleej Times. He also cleared that playing for the country is the biggest motivation for him.

“It is representing the country which is the best motivation for me because we play cricket for only a span of time. You can play for one year to 15 years, some play 20 years, but in the life span, let’s say you live for 70 years, 10 to 15 years is nothing and that’s the only time you can proudly say that I’m representing my country. The biggest motivation is being part of the Indian cricket team,” the world’s best finisher concluded in style.
