Ahead of Day 5, England all-rounder Moeen Ali asserted that Jasprit Bumrah could be the biggest threat on the last day of The Oval Test. Ali’s words became true as the Indian pacer was exceptional with the red cherry as he picked up two wickets for just 27 runs in 22 overs to help India to an emphatic victory by 157 runs in the fourth Test.
In the process, Bumrah also picked up his 100th wicket in just the 24th Test and became the fastest Indian pacer to get to the landmark. Throughout day five, the 27-year-old didn’t give an inch to the batters and was phenomenally consistent with his lines and lengths. It all started post-lunch when India skipper Virat Kohli was looking for a breakthrough. He threw the ball to his lead pacer, and Bumrah didn’t disappoint as he castled Ollie Pope with a peach of a delivery, which just did enough to break the timber.
Next up, Jonny Bairstow did not have any answer to Bumrah’s toe-crushing yorker. With two back-to-back wickets, the pacer put India in the driver’s seat. Impressed by her husband’s performance, Sanjana Ganesan took to Instagram and shared a story on her profile. In her Instagram story, Sanjana had a picture of Bumrah celebrating a wicket with his typical letting out a roar celebration. She had also given a fitting caption to the post which read, ‘Proud of you today and everyday.’

Jasprit Bumrah has been enjoying English conditions
After copping a fair bit of criticism for his dismal performance in the World Test Championship (WTC) Final against New Zealand, Bumrah bounced back like a champion in the ongoing five-match Test series against England. In the very first Test in Nottingham, Bumrah picked up nine wickets and showed his class.
In the Lord’s Test, his three wickets in the second innings helped India to come from behind to win an epic match. He also scored vital unbeaten 34 runs to help India set a good target in the fourth innings. In all, Bumrah has already picked up 18 wickets and with a game to be played. He will surely love to add more wickets to his tally.
