PSL 2018: Imad Wasim to undergo CT scan
He was also stretchered off the field as the action on the field continued.
Karachi Kings skipper Imad Wasim will go under the CT scan following an injury to his head which he sustained while taking a catch on Sunday. His team lost the match against Lahore Qalandars which went right down to the wire to the Super Over. However, the coach Mickey Arthur has cleared that there is no serious injury to him but will be kept under observation in the hospital.
The unfortunate incident happened in the 19th over during the second innings, when Sohail Khan miscued a full toss off Mohammad Amir. Imad Wasim who was stationed at mid-on ran backwards to clung on to the catch successfully but he fell on his head against the turf and couldn’t move after that which instilled fear in the minds of everyone. He was also stretchered off the field as the action on the field continued.
Also, the owner of the franchise Salman Khan had earlier heaved a sigh of relief after knowing that Imad Wasim was fine and will be kept in the hospital under observation.
What about the match?
Mickey Arthur, however, consoled the youngster Usman Khan who had bowled the no-ball off the last ball of the over which had also won them the game. But as it turned out the game was lost in the super over. “The poor guy is devastated in the changing room but he will learn from that experience. And ultimately that’s what this competition is for, it is for the emergence of young Pakistani talent. As long as young Pakistani players are developing, I am really happy,” he told reporters.
Though more than the result of the game, everyone was concerned about the health of Imad Wasim who was taken to the hospital by then. It remains to be seen if he will be available for the next game which will be played on March 15 against Peshawar Zalmi.
