PSL 2018: Karachi Kings announce their new captain in absence of Imad Wasim

The ongoing edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is proving to be a close contest among the participating franchises. With the business end of the tournament coming close, all franchises barring Lahore Qalandars stand a chance to make it to the playoffs. With a couple of league games left to be played, the Karachi Kings have received a major blow in their camp.

The regular skipper of the Karachi franchise, Imad Wasim, has been ruled out of the remaining two league games owing to an injury concern. He has been advised a minimum of two days rest by the medical officers. Hence, in his absence, the team management was left with the task of picking up their new captain for the remaining league game fixtures.

The contenders to take up the job were many. The likes of Babar Azam, Mohammad Amir, and Shahid Afridi are all a part of the Karachi setup in this season of the PSL. However, the Karachi Kings think tank have gone ahead with an overseas option to lead their side in the tournament in absence of Imad Wasim.

As per the recent press release made by the franchise, English limited overs captain Eoin Morgan has been named as the new captain of the Karachi Kings. Morgan is a highly talented limited overs cricketer who has been leading his national side to several glories in the shorter formats. The Kings would be hoping of similar glory as well.

Currently, the Kings are placed third in the points table with 9 points to their name. They have won 4 out of the 8 matches they have played thus far. Their next match will be against the Peshawar Zalmi on March 15. The last league game for the KK will be against the Islamabad United on the very next day, March 16.
