The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2018 has stepped in to the business end of the tournament. The tournament has started off the Pakistan leg of the season, the playoffs. After a thrilling last ball win over the Quetta Gladiators in the Eliminator 1, the Peshawar Zalmi have setup a date with the Karachi Kings. The two sides will lock horns in the penultimate game of the season.
The stage in Lahore is all set for the Eliminator 2 between the Karachi Kings and the defending champions, the Zalmis. The Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore is expected to get a sell out crowd for the match with everything at stake for both the sides. While the excitement among the fans is on the rise, there could be an unlikely intervention on the cards.
As per the reports in brecorder, the meteorological department has come up with a negative forecast for the game. The weather forecast reports has suggested that some parts of the city could see brief spells of showers and also thunderstorms by the end of the day. If that happens, it would be an utter disgrace to the build up that has been created for the match.
What happens if it is a washout?
Now, the big question that the teams would be thinking is about the result of the game if it is a washed out night at the venue. Well, in that case, it is worth noting that there is no reserve day for the Eliminator 2. Hence, if there is a washout, a winner will still be declared in the game. And that winner will be the Karachi Kings.
The Kings, who named a new captain for the match, will make it to the finals against the Islamabad United. This will be because of the fact that they had finished higher in the points table than the Zalmis in the league stages of the tournament. The Kings had finished second with 11 points, while the Zalmis were placed 3rd with 10 points.
