Former Pakistani skipper Shahid Afridi has retired from the international cricket but that has not kept him away from the game. He continues to ply his trade in the T20 leagues around the world. Currently, he is playing for the Karachi Kings in the third edition of the Pakistan Super League. The Kings are currently placed at number 3 spot in the points table and are looking good to qualify for the playoffs.

With the playoffs being round the corner, one would expect the veteran players in the side to step up and take responsibility. The Karachi setup boasts of big names like Shahid Afridi, Babar Azam, Eoin Morgan, and Mohammad Amir. Certainly, there is no dearth of talent when it comes to the players of the side. However, the injury concerns seem to be bothering the team.

After their skipper Imad Wasim’s injury, there are some concerns over Afridi as well. The recent reports in brecorder suggest that the veteran cricketer is having some niggle with his knee. However, despite the injury concerns, Afridi is determined to do his best for the Karachi Kings. He recently remarked the same in a social media update on Twitter.

A fan tagged Shahid Afridi in a post citing that Afridi had become the first to hit 300 sixes in ODI cricket about five years ago. Afridi was quick to appreciate the tweet from the fan and noted that he is still keen on hitting big sixes. He noted further that he is willing to give his all to the Karachi Kings and the PSL. In other news, the Kings have appointed a new captain in the absence of Imad Wasim.

Here is what Shahid Afridi wrote in his tweet:

“Thank you for the record reminder, I’m carrying an injury but still determined to give my all to Kings and PSL. Trying best to hit more 6s and play big inns :)” Shahid Afridi tweeted.
