PSL 2019: Anton Devcich honoured to be retained by Lahore Qalandars
The PSL 2019 players draft is scheduled to be held on November 20 in Islamabad.
All the six Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises declared their list of released players yesterday on November 13. Among the players, Lahore Qalandars decided to hold onto is New Zealand’s Anton Devcich. He is, in fact, the only overseas player the team retained ahead of the PSL 2019 players draft.
Devcich, on his part, is honoured to have been retained as it shows their faith. He also mentioned that being with a franchise that has such a rich tradition and a belief of giving back to the community is what makes him feel even better about it. He also added that the team might have not won a PSL title yet but they do have millions of fans.
“Being associated to a franchise that is so rich traditionally and believes in giving back to the community is truly an honour,” he said in a video message posted by the Qalandars team. “Qalandars may not have won PSL but they have surely won hearts of millions and millions of people in Pakistan and in the region which is greater satisfaction itself.”
He also promised the fans that the team will give its best to produce the kind of results that is expected of them. “We are coming back for the 4th season of PSL and we promise to give it our best this time for people who have supported us and the franchise over the years,” the 33-year-old added also urging the fans to “keep supporting us.”
