Karachi Kings registered their 2nd victory in as many matches as they defeated Peshawar Zalmi this time by 6 wickets. Mohammad Amir got Tom Banton‘s wicket on the very first ball of the match and cleaned up Haider Ali two balls later.

Shoaib Malik ensured Peshawar reached 151/8 with help of a 55-ball 68 despite the Karachi bowlers threatened Zalmi of getting them to a low total. Babar Azam stepped with an unbeaten 59-ball 70 and shared a 101-run 2nd wicket stand with Alex Hales (49 off 27). Babar’s knock saw Karachi get over the line with 11 balls to spare.

Karachi completes a double over Peshawar:

4-8 – Karachi Kings won both the matches they played in this season against Peshawar Zalmi. Prior to this season, Karachi won only two of the ten meetings in the PSL against Peshawar and also lost each of their last four matches over them.


Amir stars with a 4-wicket haul:

2Mohammad Amir is now the 2nd player after Usman Khan Shinwari to bag two 4-wickets hauls in the Pakistan Super League for Karachi Kings. Amir is overall the 8th player with multiple 4-fers in the PSL. Only Hasan Ali has more than two 4-wicket hauls in the PSL and all came during the 2019 edition.


53 – Mohammad Amir completed 50 wickets in the T20 format on Pakistan soil with his first wicket of this game. Amir took only 37 matches to reach this milestone. A total of 32 players have got to this milestone but Amir’s bowling SR of 15.8 is only behind Imran Khan Jnr (14.1) and Saeed Ajmal (15.1).


A record fifty for Babar Azam:

4Babar Azam now has scored four fifties in the PSL against Peshawar Zalmi; the joint-most 50+ scores for any player against an opponent. Kamran Akmal and Luke Ronchi also have four 50+ scores in the league against Karachi Kings.


11 – Number of fifties for Babar Azam in the Pakistan Super League; the 2nd most 50+ scores for any player in the league. Kamran Akmal leads the list with 12 fifties while Luke Ronchi is shortly behind Babar having recorded ten 50+ scores.


367 – Babar has aggregated 367 runs across 11 PSL games against Peshawar Zalmi at an average of 36.70. Only Shane Watson (383) has scored more runs than Babar in the PSL against Peshawar.

50 – This match against Karachi was Wahab Riaz’s 50th appearance in the Pakistan Super League. Kamran Akmal (52) is the only other player to have featured in more than 50 PSL matches.
