Peshawar Zalmi registered their 4th win of the season as they edged past Islamabad United on Saturday evening in a rain-affected match. Shadab Khan was the star for Islamabad with the bat as he scored 77 from only 42 balls. Colin Munro and Colin Ingram scored 52 and 41 runs apiece and helped Islamabad finish on 195/5. Chasing a big score, Peshawar Zalmi moved to 84/2 in nine overs before the game came to an end due to rain. The DLS par score at that point read 77/2 and the Zalmi were seen winning the game by 7 runs.

Peshawar’s hat-trick against Islamabad:

3 – This was Peshawar Zalmi’s 3rd successive win against Islamabad United in the PSL. The Zalmi team defeated United in the 2nd meeting during the league phase and in the 2nd Eliminator of the 2019 edition. The Islamabad team won six of their first nine PSL matches against Peshawar which includes two streaks of hat-trick wins.


A big total by United:

195/5 – The total of 195/5 by Islamabad United is their 3rd highest total in the PSL behind the record 238/3 against Lahore Qalandars in 2019 and 198/3 earlier this week also against the Qalandars.

Only twice Peshawar conceded higher titles than the 195/5 in this match – 201/4 to Karachi Kings in 2020 and 200/7 to Quetta Gladiators in 2017.


A record knock by Shadab:

77 – Shadab Khan’s 77 is now the 2nd highest individual score in the Pakistan Super League while leading the team. Shane Watson scored 79 as a captain also for the Islamabad United during the 2016 season match against Lahore Qalandars.


77 – Shadab Khan’s 77 is the highest PSL score for Islamabad United while batting at No.4 or a lower position. The previous highest was Azhar Ali’s 70 against Karachi Kings last year. As many as four players scored more than 77 runs in a PSL innings for any team while batting at No.4 or a lower position.


3/4 – The 77-run knock by Shadab is his highest score in the T20 format. He scored four fifties in T20s out of which three came in this PSL season only.


Ronchi @ 1000 runs:

1002 – Luke Ronchi completed 1000 runs in the Pakistan Super League with the six he struck before getting out in the first of the match. Ronchi is only the 5th player and the 2nd foreigner to complete 1000 PSL runs. He is also the first player to complete 1000 PSL runs for the Islamabad United.
