PSL 2020: Naseem Shah's 142 kmph yorker dismisses Luke Ronchi

Islamabad United lost the match by five wickets against Quetta Gladiators.

Pakistan Super League 2020 is in its full swing with all the teams giving a tough fight to each other. On Thursday in a game between Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators, Naseem Shah, who marked his return into the Super League hogged the spotlight with his brilliant quick bowling.

Naseem Shah recently played in the Test series against Bangladesh in which he managed to take a hat-trick in the 1st Test that was played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. He also became the youngest bowler to achieve that feat in the longer format. However, after taking a hat-trick against the Tigers he suffered a strong pain in his ribcage due to which he left the field in between the game.

The pain was serious due to which he underwent rehabilitation and it was the main reason that he couldn’t take part in the first two games of Quetta Gladiators. Now, he is fit and back in the dugout of his team.

Naseem Shah arrives in PSL with a bang on performance

On Thursday, he left everyone amazed by his quick bowling against Islamabad United. He marked his arrival with a bang as he dismissed Luke Ronchi on his first delivery. The young prodigy darted a yorker that clicked 142.3 km/hr which blown away the leg stump away from the grooves. It was a 10 on 10 delivery that dismissed Ronchi in the 2nd over of the innings. Soon, Shah castled Dawid Malan, the in-form batsman of Islamabad United. The rookie pacer registered amazing bowling figures of 2/23 in his four overs.

Coming to the match, Islamabad United posted a score of 187 runs for a loss of 7 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Colin Ingram(63 runs) and Shadab Khan (39 runs) played vital knocks for their side that helped them in posting a competitive total on the scoreboard. Later on, Quetta Gladiators chased the target with two balls to spare and registered a magnificent victory by a margin of five wickets.

Jason Roy scored his second fifty in PSL 2020 followed by a cameo of Ben Cutting, who scored 42 runs off 17 balls studded with four sixes and two boundaries. This victory also helped Gladiators in grabbing the top spot in the league table with six points.
