The league stage of Pakistan Super League 2020 is in the history books now as Multan Sultans, Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi emerged as the top four teams. Earlier, the tournament was supposed to have a playoffs format, however, because of the COVID-19 threat, the organizers replaced it with the semifinals format. But on Tuesday, ahead of the semi-finals, the tournament itself was called off.
The league stage entertained the fans a lot as the overseas stars from all over the world lit up the stadiums in Pakistan. Although a plethora of international stars left the competition because of Coronavirus, they still played a key role for their team in the early half of the tourney.
Here’s a look at the top 5 international performers of PSL 2020 league stage:
1. Chris Lynn – Lahore Qalandars
The reason why Lahore Qalandars made it to the semifinals of PSL 2020 is Chris Lynn. The dashing opener from Australia slammed a magnificent hundred in the team’s final league match against Multan Sultans to help them secure the third position on the points table. Unfortunately, Lynn also left after scoring the century in the final league game.
However, in the eight matches that he played for Qalandars, Lynn amassed 284 runs at a splendid average of 40.57. His strike rate of 179.74 shows that he decimated the opposition bowlers in the league stage.
The Aussie’s highest score in PSL 2020 was 113* while he also registered a half-century in the league stage. He ended the league round as the highest run-scorer among overseas players.
