Multan Sultans and Peshawar Zalmi will lock horns in the high-voltage final of PSL 2021.
Multan Sultans and Peshawar Zalmi will lock horns in the high-voltage final of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021. Both sides have had a fascinating journey this season, and there aren’t many factors separating them. The Mohammad Rizwan-led Multan Sultans made a terrible start to their campaign, losing four of their first five games. They were, in fact, reeling at the rock-bottom of the team standings at the time of season suspension.
However, the tournament resumed in Abu Dhabi, and the Sultans looked a completely different unit. Their fortunes changed astonishingly as they won four games on the trot, climbing up in the team standings. They eventually finished the league stage at second place, having won five of their ten games. The Multan-based side went onto defeat a formidable Islamabad United team in the Qualifier and earned a place in the summit clash.
On the other hand, Peshawar Zalmi blew hot and cold throughout the league stage. Wahab Riaz’s men lost four of their first six games, and their chances of advancing to the playoffs looked thin. However, they bounced back emphatically and won three of their last four games. Continuing their winning run, they defeated Karachi Kings and Islamabad United in Eliminator 1 and Eliminator 2 and made a place in the final.
While Peshawar Zalmi have won the 2017 edition of the tournament, the title is still elusive for the Multan Sultans. Hence, fans can witness an exciting contest in the summit clash. Not to forget, along with the prestigious PSL title, a hefty amount of money is also at stake in the ultimate encounter.
