After clearing out all the disturbances, the PSL 2021 is all set to kick off in Abu Dhabi on June 9. The majority of players, officials, and broadcasters have already landed in Abu Dhabi and have completed their mandatory quarantine. Earlier, PCB faced various challenged to get clearance from concerned authorities in Abu Dhabi but things have got a nod now.

Earlier, PCB were thinking to resume the tournament in Pakistan itself but seeing the COVID-19 situation, the venue was moved to the gulf nation. The first leg of PSL 2021 was on in Karachi but had to be cancelled owing to an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases across camps.

There were a lot of bio bubble breaches that were reported even before the start of the league. Daren Sammy and Wahab Riaz met with Peshawar Zalmi’s owner, Javed Afridi who was not part of the strict bio bubble. This was the second consecutive time where the league got stopped midway. In March 2020, PCB suspended the Pakistan T20 league as Alex Hales started exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms.

Talking about the league so far, Karachi Kings under the leadership of Imad Wasim have acquired the top slot in the points table. They are being followed by Peshawar Zalmi and 3rd in line are Islamabad United. The 4th, 5th, and 6th slots are sealed by Lahore Qalandars, Multan Sultans, and Quetta Gladiators respectively.

Pakistan team to leave for England after completion of PSL 2021

After plying their trade in PSL 6, the men in green will leave for their high-profile assignment against England.  They will move to the UK to play three ODIs and as many T20Is against the home side from July 8-20. It was only reported some time back that a team of Indian broadcasters is still awaiting clearance from the Abu Dhabi govt as they had some issues in their quarantine.

Earlier, some players of PSL also had to go through the same ordeal. However, things look all clear now and it will be a thing to see how PSL 2021 will unfold.
