PSL 2021: Team of Indian broadcasters still awaits clearance from Abu Dhabi govt

The first leg of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021 got cancelled in Karachi due to the rapid spread of COVID-19 cases across players. However, in the recent turn of events, PCB announced shifting the second leg to Abu Dhabi. However, it has been seen the PCB is constantly facing issues to get clearance from concerned authorities in Abu Dhabi which is causing a delay in the PSL dates announcement.
Now, it has been found that 16-member Indian broadcasting which is in Abu Dhabi is awaiting clearance from authorities. The remaining 20 matches of the PSL 2021 are turning out to be a great headache for the Pakistan board ever since the venue got shifted. The first session got suspended in March after the completion of just 14 games.
“Till Wednesday the PCB is still awaiting clearance from the Ministry of Health of Abu Dhabi to allow 16 members of the broadcasting crew from India to cover the event which has already led to the delay of Pakistan team’s departure to England by two days,” a source from the board said as quoted by The Indian Express.

The source also explained that Indian broadcasters were quarantining in Abu Dhabi but were asked to leave the hotel by health officials. Later, those officials informed the players that they would have to quarantine in some other emirates state before stepping in Abu Dhabi. The set of Indian broadcasters have been flown to UAE by PCB in a charter plane.
“If we get required permission on Thursday then the PSL 6 will start from June 7 or 8 and if there is further delay then the wait will get longer,” the source added.
The Pakistan board has already faced several issues regarding the staging of IPL in the gulf nation over the last two weeks. Earlier it was stated that PCB will hold the remaining games of PSL 2021 between June 6-20. Now, it remains a matter to be seen on how the board will roll out things for the remaining session.
