PSL 2022: Naveen-ul-Haq pulls out of tournament due to personal reasons

Afghanistan cricketer Naveen-ul-Haq has pulled out of the 2022 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The right-arm pacer was supposed to offer his services for the Quetta Gladiators in the upcoming PSL season.
Naveen-ul-Haq took to Instagram to confirm the news. Naveen stated that he feels sad to pull out of PSL 2022. The 22-year-old also added that he would like to play in the tournament in the future.
“Sad to be missing out from the PSL. Hopefully will play sometime in the future,” stated Naveen-ul-Haq on Instagram. You can see the Screenshot of Naveen-ul-Haq’s Instagram story below.
He pulled out due to personal reasons: Naveen-ul-Haq’s manager
Naveen-ul-Haq’s manager, Kaustav Lahiri confirmed that the pacer has pulled out of PSL 2022. Lahiri added that Naveen will not be participating in the tournament due to personal reasons, and concluded by stating that the PSL is a fantastic competition.
“I would like to confirm that Naveen pulled out of PSL 2022 for some personal reasons. PSL is a fantastic competition and we look forward to be a part of it in the near future,” said Kaustav Lahiri.
Naveen-ul-Haq has played 7 ODIs and 13 T20I matches for the Afghanistan side. While he has taken 14 wickets in ODI cricket, Naveen has prized out 18 willow wielders in the T20I format of the game.
Naveen was last seen in action for the Afghanistan side on 7th November 2021, when Afghanistan clashed against New Zealand in a Super 12 encounter of the 2021 T20 World Cup. Naveen bowled 2 overs in that match, leaked 16 runs but failed to scalp a wicket with the ball. The 2022 edition of the PSL will be held from 27th January to 27th February 2022.
