Shahnawaz Dahani’s brilliant yorker to dismiss Ben Dunk was one of the few things that had gone the way of Multan Sultans in the 3rd Match of PSL 2022 edition. Dahani made his international debut for Pakistan last year and has played two T20 internationals so far. The right-arm seamer managed to hit the blockhole to get rid of the struggling Dunk and it will certainly be a confidence booster for him despite coming late on the day.

Earlier, The Lahore Qalandars were sent in to bat first after losing the toss and they made a merry of the Multan Sultan bowlers. Fakhar Zaman got off to a flyer and his 76 in 35 deliveries ensured that the batting side pushed the accelerators. Kamran Ghulam and Mohammad Hafeez carried the momentum while lusty blows from all-rounders, David Wiese and Rashid Khan took the total to 206 for the loss of 5 wickets on board.

Dunk needed to go after the bowling straightway and he was on 9 off 10 deliveries which mounted the pressure on him. The Australian attempted a scoop over the wicket keeper’s head in the fine leg area, and Dahani shot out a toe-crushing yorker which took off the bails of the stumps. Dunk could not get any bat into it and his struggling innings finally came to an end as Dahani was celebrating his yorker with a wave to his dugout as well. The 23-year-old seamer finished with 1 for 44 in his 4 over spell as it was a run feast out there.

Meanwhile, the Multan Sultan came out with all guns blazing were are on the track of chasing down the huge score on board. Openers Shan Masood and Mohammad Rizwan reached their fifties in no time and led their team to win the high-scoring contest. Khushdil Shah’s late blitz pushed his side to win the game while smashing 18 off 4 balls.
