PSL 2022: Teams pick players in supplementary and replacement draft

Days before the start of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2022, all the six franchises have boosted their squads even further. The teams picked up additional players and submitted partial replacements for the players unavailable for the first few matches. The list was finalized in a supplementary and replacement draft on Saturday (January 9). Several foreign and local players were picked in the event.
Babar Azam’s Karachi Kings had the first supplementary pick and they added Sahibzada Farhan. The Kings would be delighted to get the batter on board as he bagged the PCB Domestic Cricketer of the Year Award 2021. Lahore Qalandar roped in pacer Mohammad Imran Randhawa after they went second in the opening round.
Multan Sultans roped in Odean Smith and Rovman Powell
As far as the next four picks are concerned, Islamabad United picked young fast bowler Musa Khan, who has represented the franchise before. While Quetta Gladiators reserved their pick, Multan Sultans picked England pacer David Willey. Peshawar Zalmi roped in youngster Mohammad Umar. Peshawar Zalmi went first in the second round and they decided to reserve their pick.
It must be noted that all franchises were allowed to pick a maximum of one foreign cricketer out of the two supplementary picks. Making the use of the option, Multan Sultans replaced Odean Smith and Rovman Powell were replaced with Johnson Charles and Dominic Drakes.
Notably, Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators reserved their one supplementary pick each. At the same time, all five teams reserved their picks in the replacement round except Quetta Gladiators.

Lahore Qalandars – In supplementary round: Mohammad Imran Randhawa and Akif Javed (both Silver). In replacement round: Ben Dunk (Gold)
Multan Sultans – In supplementary round: David Willey (Diamond), Rizwan Hussain (Silver). In replacement round: Johnson Charles and Dominic Drakes (both Silver)
Peshawar Zalmi – In supplementary round: Mohammad Umer (Emerging).
Quetta Gladiators – In supplementary round: Ghulam Mudassar (Emerging). In replacement round: Luke Wood, Will Smeed and Ali Imran (all Silver), Shimron Hetmyer (Diamond)
