Football star Lionel Messi shocked the entire world as he announced his decision of leaving FC Barcelona after nearly two decades with the Spanish Giants. The Argentine had sent a document expressing his desire to activate a release clause that would end his contract – which currently runs until next June – and allow him to leave for free this summer.
Messi has become a fan favourite since his debut for Barcelona and it would be no surprise to see soccer teams from every country try and make a run at the superstar. Every team will love to have an athlete as famous and talented as Messi.

PSL gives an offer to Lionel Messi; deletes tweet quickly
The Twitter handle of Pakistan Super League (PSL) was not behind as it also shared a picture of Lionel Messi wearing the T20 league’s jersey along with asking him if he would like to try playing some T20 cricket. With this, they also made the announcement of opening the registration for the PSL, “Fancy some T20 cricket, Leo? We are opening #HBLPSL player registrations soon. #Messi.” However, the tweet was deleted in quick time.
The 2020 edition of the Pakistan Premier League (PSL) was suspended on March 17 owing to the rise in the number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan and the world. The PSL had entered the knockout stages and the two semi-final matches were due to be played soon in Lahore.
Multan Sultans were to take on Peshawar Zalmi at 2 pm at the Gaddafi Stadium, followed by a clash between Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars at the same venue in the evening of March 17. However, all the matches were cancelled with the immediate effect.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had taken this decision after numerous withdrawals by foreign players in the middle of the domestic tournament and most had left the event to return home in view of the coronavirus pandemic.
