PSL 2024

The ninth season of the exciting Pakistan Super League (PSL 2024) is ready to enthral the fans not only in Pakistan but also all over the world. The PSL has come a long way from being launched in 2016 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with five teams, to a huge brand consisting of six teams now.

The league begins from February 17 onwards with the final to be played on March 18. Recently the PSL 9 draft was held by the Pakistan Cricket Board, which saw a lot of movement of players with some changing their teams.

he competition is to be played in four cities in Pakistan - Multan, Rawalpindi, Lahore and Karachi. All matches begin at 8 PM IST. There are as many as six double-headers. On doubleheader days, the first game starts at 2.30 PM IST, while the second game begins at 8 PM IST.

Lahore and Multan have matches in the first phase of the PSL 2024 from February 17-27. The second phase will be played in Rawalpindi and Karachi from February 28-March 12. The playoffs will played on March 14, 15 and 16 while the summit clash is set to be scheduled on March 18 in Karachi. 

The PSL also has some coveted prizes up for grabs with the leading run-scorer in the tournament earning the Hanif Mohammad Award and a Green Cap. On the other hand, the leading wicket-taker in the PSL 2024 gets the Fazal Mahmood Award and a Maroon Cap. In addition to this, the best wicketkeeper in the PSL tournament is to get the Imtiaz Ahmed Award.

The PSL 2024 trophy was unveiled in a sedated ceremony on Tuesday, February 13. Captains of all six franchises were present at the event along with the Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Mohsin Naqvi. The owners of the six franchises were also present. 

The new PSL 2024 trophy is called “The Orion Trophy”. The trophy embodies the spirit of the HBL Pakistan Super League where each team shines brightly as they strive for glory. The trophy is carved of pure silver and coated in white gold. It also has 18,000 stones hand-placed on it.
